About Us
We are a community-based and refugee-led organization.
About us
Give Hope Initiatives is a legally registered refugee-led community-based organization, founded in 2018 by the collective vision of 10 dedicated refugee community members, to address the intertwined socio-economic, environmental and legal challenges- gender-based violence, limited access to quality education, lack of access to legal documentation, limited livelihood opportunities, and recurring conflicts faced by displaced populations, women, marginalized groups and vulnerable community members. The founders, themselves refugees, were motivated by the ongoing struggles within the camps and the surrounding hosting areas inspired the creation of a grassroots platform to give hope, restore dignity, and empower communities through education, community engagement, partnerships, advocacy, and capacity-building.
Over time, the organization expanded to 12 committed members, 8 women and 4 men, with the inclusion of host community members to make our long-term vision inclusive, impactful rather than serving displaced communities alone without the input and acceptance of the host communities. The expansion further brought individuals of different background to add diverse skills and lived experiences to the team. Give Hope Initiatives continues to be deeply rooted in the community, ensuring that its programs are tailored to local realities while fostering economic reliance, inclusivity, peaceful coexistence and resilience.
